Beginning Band
Have you ever wanted to learn an instrument and be part of something big? Beginning Band is the perfect place to start! No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and we’ll teach you how to play a band instrument from the ground up. You'll explore all kinds of music, from classical pieces to movie soundtracks and TV hits. Together, we’ll work toward exciting performances at our winter and spring concerts. Join the band, make new friends, and discover the joy of making music as a team!
Intermediate or Advanced Band: Concert Band – Build Your Skills, Raise the Volume!
Concert Band is for students with prior band experience who are ready to take their musical skills to the next level. In this class, you'll continue to grow as a musician by improving your technique, sight-reading, and ensemble performance. We’ll play an exciting variety of music—from classical masterpieces to modern movie and television themes—and showcase our progress at winter and spring concerts. Be part of a fun, focused group that works hard, plays together, and brings music to life!
Choir: Find Your Voice!
Join Choir and discover the power of your voice! In this fun and supportive class, you'll build strong singing skills, learn to read music, and explore vocal techniques that help you sing with confidence and expression. We’ll perform songs from around the world—different cultures, languages, and time periods—and work together to create beautiful, powerful music as a team. Whether you’ve been singing for years or are just getting started, choir is the perfect place to grow as a musician and performer!
Art
In this hands-on elective, students will explore the elements and principles of art through a variety of media and techniques, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and digital art. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, personal expression, and building foundational art skills. Students will study the work of diverse artists, both past and present, and reflect on how art connects to culture, history, and identity. Projects will encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and collaboration. No prior art experience is needed—just a willingness to try something new and express yourself!
Study Support
This elective is designed to help students build academic confidence, strengthen study habits, and stay on top of their coursework. Students will receive support with organization, time management, and goal setting, as well as have structured time to complete assignments, prepare for tests, and get help in areas where they need extra guidance. The class will also include lessons on skills such as note-taking, active reading, and self-advocacy. This supportive environment encourages independence and accountability while giving students the tools they need to succeed across all subject areas.
Creative Wellness: Explore, Create, Innovate: Discovering STEAM
Dive into the exciting world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) with our hands-on elective! Designed for curious minds and aspiring innovators, this course blends creativity with critical thinking. Students will tackle real-world challenges through project-based learning, where they'll design, build, and test their own inventions. From coding and robotics to eco-friendly architecture and digital art, discover how STEAM shapes our future.
Outdoor Adventure
Explore the outdoors while building strength, stamina, and teamwork! In this active and exciting class, students will use nearby trails and outdoor spaces to hike, run, navigate, and complete fun fitness challenges in nature. From partner circuits to orienteering, volunteerism, survival skills and team obstacle courses, students will grow their endurance and cooperation skills while connecting with the natural environment.
